Does your dog...
- bark when someone rings at the door?
- greet people "too enthusiastically" and jumps on them?
- pull on the leash?
- steal your slippers and plays "chase me" all the time?
- doesn't come when called, when he's focused on sniffing?
- have you got the impression he listens to you only when he likes to?
Well... congratulations, you have a real dog!
He is performing very "doggie" behaviours, and I assure you he has no idea of the
trouble he's running into. It is your task, as responsible dog owner,
to teach him what he is allowed to do and what he's not,
setting him up for a safe and happy life in our society, and, since he loves you deeply,
the least you can do is to teach him manners in the most effective yet gentle
and rewarding way, rejecting once and for all the ineffective, immoral,
counterproductive aversive methods!
